Posted on 12/12/2009 21:51
33 sultans went on a jolly up to Araluen, no dramas at the start of the day when we all made the appropriate pick ups on time!!! The setting was fantastic, views to die for , wildlife a plenty and lakes as green as Steve Wottons Big W pool!!!! The stableford comp runner up was Mark H with 33 pts individual winner was Tom Tripp with 35 pts which was good golf considering he was playing with our sexually frustrated irishman Nigel, who fancied his chances with many a roo on offer, video evidence was shown on the coach and the RSPCA have been contacted.!!! The stroke play winner was Mark B with 88 and is now sporting a new shirt, runner up was Paul R with 91. Shot of the day was from Brendan who won nearest the pin on the 16th with a beauty to within 2ft of the pin. I would like to wish u all a Merry Christmas and thank u for your support and help throughout the year, a big thanks to Jeff for his work on the fines, the next bash is at Glen Iris on Sunday the 27th of Dec tee off 10am so be there about 9.00 ish

Team event was won by Harvey, Mark H, Pete L, Alan C, with 95pts?????? runner up for the day was Harvey with 35pts, winner for the day was DarrenL who not only had to worry about the conditions, he had to keep a eye on his liver , due to being in a cart with Dave West....Darren shot 40pts and left Burswood early to go home and polish his medal(bless him), hope u all had a good day!! The next meet will be a proper jolly boys outing as we have a coach going to Araluen, the pick up points will be Winton rd by Bouncers at 8.40am and then Greenwood train station at 9.15ish the cost for the day will be $90 that includes coach, green fees, buggy, prizes .We have a shotgun start at 11.50am we hope u can all make it , see u on the coach shaggers!!!!

The team event was won by myself ,John S,Graham, and Scott with 54pts. The individual runner up was John Swith 33pts even though he had been in more bunkers than saddam hussien.winner for the day with 35pts was Pete Legge , who was absent from collecting his trophy as he was rushing to get to Burswood to see his favourite band...(the wiggles) a special mention goes to Derrick P who did his bit for charity this week by shopping with Stevie Wonder judging by his taste in shorts!!!!!! Hope u all had a good day,the next bash will be at Burswood on the 31st of October 1st tee off at 9 honest!!!!!! so be there about 8ish cheers

It was good to see Derrick Duffy back to his drinking best as he collected more empties than points(dedication that…..)the next bash will be on Saturday 26th of Sept at Sun City tee off 10am so meet at 9.15am, We have arranged breakfast at the Blue Cube Café at Butler for $10 if you are interested if so please let Sean know when confirming your availability meeting there for 8 am. With 24 Sultans on parade, we finally got away, if a little late, at Collier. Dave West took first honours of the day with NP on the 3rd. It was good to see Dave constantly smoking, as that’s the nearest he's going to get to the ashes this summer!!! Longest drive on the front 9 went to Jeff, who also finished runner up with 38 points and now dons the pink shirt for Wembley. Nutch picked up NP on the back 9 with a great shot on the 14th. Longest drive on the 18th went to Mark B (230 yards). Team event with all scores counting was won by myself, Harv, Nutch and Dave M. Individual winner for the 2nd time in a row went to Paul R, who must it look easy shooting 81 off the sticks and coming home with 39 points. A good day, although rushed was hopefully had by all. The next meet is at Wembley on the 29th August, meet at 9.00. Bring money for shirts as we have them all in now, cheers.

Our biggest yet, with 37 Sultans on parade and all to play for, a good day lay ahead. NP on the front 9 went to Rod W, NP on the back 9 went to Alan O, but as he had to get away to keep his hair appointment, his prize of a bottle of Bourbon went back into the raffle, which I then won (cheers mate)! LD on the front 9 went to Tony Walker and on the back 9, after a steroids test, Darren King collected his prize with a massive drive. Team event for the day, was won by Chris H, Dave W, Adrian and Scott M, who shot 87 points. Individual runner up, was Pete Legg with 37 points who shot some great golf and is now leader in the club house, so was presented with his stylish pink shirt from Scott M, for the next event. The winner for today, was Paul Rogers, who has been away for a few months teaching pigmys to dance in Birmingham!!!!!!!!!!! Good to see him back and on winning terms, he also picked up the prize for least putts ( well done matey). A big thankyou goes to all of you for supporting the society over the last year. Massive thanks for supporting the raffle, which was a top success and raised good funds for the day. I hope you all had a good day, as I think we have a good group of blokes who play with the right spirit, and in the words of last years champ DAVE M, long may it continue. See you all at Collier Park 25th July, 10.45 for a 11.30 tee off.

Hillview Heaven for Scott

With swine flu ripe and not enough " oinkment " to go round it looked like the deck of the " Mary Celeste " on the first tee with a fare few Sultans missing , but with a top quality breakfast inside of us it was a great way to start the day as we headed off to tackle the quite varied course . We welcomed a few new faces John Webb , Nick Scott and Alan Ormesher who hopefully enjoyed themselves and will be back next month . It was good to see that Alan who originates from Liverpool did return his buggy with all the wheels still on it !!!!!!. Longest drive went to Jeff Vaughan with a corker on the 16th there was no nearest to the pin as we all failed to hit the green ( Tossers ) . The team event was won by Lord Valentine , Carl Blank , Derek Parker and Scott Marshall with 53pts . The individual runner up was Jeff Vaughan who had 39pts but the overall winner was the ever improving Scott Marshall who won on countback ( good golf mate ) he will now start the next event as leader in the clubhouse sporting a new Sultans look . We will see you all at the Vines on Sat 4 July 7.30 ish for breakfast bring plenty of cash as there will be a raffle. It has been suggested to me that the wives and girlfriends should get together whilst us lads are out playing golf anybody interested can contact Nicola at nicolaw143@hotmail.com

Presidents V Vice Presidents at Rosehill
Posted on 04/06/2009 17:26
35 Sultans graced Rosehill for the final match of the year so we played two teams in a matchplay format as well as our normal individual prize . This seemed to work well as the banter was ripe as usual . The presidents side came home sneakily by one point to take the honours , the individual was won by pistol packing Carl who cut the course up with 46 points but will now be cut big time!!!!! . Hope everyone had a good day , our next outing is at Hillview Golf Club where we would ask you to be there for 8 o'clock for breakfast. Anyone that requires a shirt pls see me on the day or email Harvey
