The Knockout Competition Heads towards Completion
Posted on 07/08/2008 20:50
The final 2 competitors have now been identified for the final of the individual competition. The final will be contested between Les Davey and Phil Lynch. Both came through stern tests at Blundells Hill in their semi finals and a lot of piss taking to reach the final. The beaten semi finalists can look back and genuinely say, jammy bastards !!!!! Good luck to them both, me and John Whittaker are not bitter at all !!

SHROPSHIRE DAY OUT IS A SUCCESS !!!!
Posted on 07/08/2008 20:31
This was the first time the windle society had visited the Shropshre course in Telford and I don’t think any one was dissapointted. The course was in fantastic condition and the weather held out for most of the day. The morning 9 hole competion was won by Steve Harrison who was pushed extremely close by Steve Ellison. Both players carded 19 points for the 9 holes and could only be seperated by a card count up. The main competetion of the day was another close fought affair.Again the 2 players who scored 29 points could only be seperated by a back 9 card count. Unfornately Phil Lynch was beaten in to 2nd place (for the 2nd time this year) while Les Davey claimed his first victory with the Windle. Well done Les, that’s 2 shots gone…Ha….Ha…. It was also good to see some new faces at the event, lets hope to see them again at the next competition. Thanks for the support guys……. The next Competition is at Hoylake @11:30hrs, can you please confirm your attendance by Saturday 09.08.08. To Mr Secretary. Keep Swinging and Play Well. Ste.

Peter Woods Hits The Top !!!!
Posted on 16/03/2008 17:24
The first competition of the year got underway at Duxbury Park on the 15th of March. A strong turnout assembled with plenty of players fancying there chances (apart from me !). Terry Kehoe got us underway with a magnificant tee shot to start the Captains drive in( Nice 7 iron Terry !!!). The longest drive was won by yours truly with a great shot down the 8th, you never lose it !! And Stuart Thomas won the nearest the pin with a great shot on the difficult 15th. Some great scores were recorded, Jimmy Smith and John Whittaker both achieved 36's with Phil Lynch scoring 38 points of a handicap of ten. But the round of the day went to Peter Woods with a cracking round of 39 points. Well done Peter. Thanks to you all for the first turn out of the year.See you all at Ellesmere Port on the 5th of April.Keep Swinging and Play Well.Steve.

 Slayley Hall 2007 (Captains Weekend)
Posted on 10/03/2008 18:26
What a Motley Crue, every year the society goes from stength to strengh. Thats because of the hard work and commitment of the members and the work that goes on behind the scenes from the committee. Pictured here is the members who turned up at last years Captains Weekend. The location was Slayley Hall in Northumberland. What a top location, pity we couldn’t do it justice, well keep trying though. Heres to the new season, we start in March at Duxbury Park. Watch this space for further updates. Keep Swinging, and Play Well, Steve.
